What is TallahasseeVoices?
TallahasseeVoices is a pro-bono online panel conducted by Kerr & Downs Research. The purpose is to provide community leaders with public opinion regarding local and national issues, so that commission decisions are based more on community needs. See the About Us page for more information.

What does TallahasseeVoices do?
TallahasseeVoices sends out online surveys regarding local and national issues to a panel representing the population of Leon County. Those on the panel will be invited to participate in one or two surveys each month. The results are then shared with media organizations and local community leaders.

How do I join the panel?
Just click on the ‘Click here to join our Panel’ link on the homepage to join. This will direct you to a survey regarding general demographic information about yourself. Complete the survey and click ‘Submit.’ This will add you to the panel and you will begin to receive notices of available surveys.

What happens if I move or no longer want to be a member of the panel?
If you are no longer in the Tallahassee area or simply would not like to participate any longer, just respond to one of the surveys or Contact Us and type “Remove” in the subject line. Please make sure to include or reference the e-mail address you originally signed up with.

What happens with all the data collected?
The data is compiled, analyzed, and put into an easy to read presentation which is available on the Survey Results page for panel members and anyone interested to see. The presentation is then also sent out to various media organizations and local community leaders for their use.

What is the privacy policy?
Your Privacy is assured. Information you provide will be held in strict confidence by Kerr & Downs Research and will not be released in any way to any other party.

I received an invitation to complete the survey, but the links are not connecting me to the survey. What should I do?
Some e-mail programs have difficulty with our links. Our links are sent in plain text format, and some programs won't recognize the link as "active" or "clickable." If the link provided didn’t work, try copying the entire link and pasting it into the address field in your browser. If this does not work, then send us an e-mail by responding to the survey invitation or Contact Us. We will be happy to send you another link with a unique password to allow you to log on. We really appreciate your patience as we work to ensure the easiest, user-friendly experience for the entire panel.

I am having trouble and am a Mac user. What should I do?
For those who are attempting to access the survey via a Macintosh computer or software, our software vendor has noted problems running the survey on the Macintosh Platform. If this is the case, try uploading the survey via another software. If the problem persists on the other software, e-mail by responding to the survey invitation or Contact Us. We will be happy to send you another link with a unique password to allow you to log on.

I would like to see the Survey Results, but I cannot pull them up. What should I do?
The Survey Results are in PDF format which requires Adobe Acrobat to open. If you do not have this program, you can go to www.adobe.com and download a free Adobe Reader version to view the results. Please be patient as the program loads, it may take longer on some computers than others.

I would like to see the News Coverage articles, but I cannot pull them up. What should I do?
The News Coverage articles are not linked. Therefore, we have been able to link a few of the articles which we had in hard copy to the website via PDF. We are aware that some of the articles take a little longer to load than others. Please be patient as it loads. PDF format requires Adobe Acrobat to open. If you do not have this program, you can go to www.adobe.com and download a free Adobe Reader version to view the results.

I signed up for the panel, but have not received any surveys or e-mails. What should I do?
There are a few reasons why you may not have received any surveys or e-mails. The most probable reason is that a survey just went out to the panel and you signed up after it was sent. Surveys generally go out to the panel once or twice a month. If this is the case, you will be receiving an invitation to participate in the next survey in the coming weeks. Another strong possibility is that the e-mail address that we have for you is incorrect. Our surveys may not be able to reach you due to a misspelling in the e-mail address, Spam filters, full mailboxes, local policy restrictions, etc. You can either re-join the panel or Contact Us with any questions or concerns.
